Fathers, I am calling you, because I value your education as a leader. You can do a better job at home than you have been. Be stronger, wiser and make leadership choices with your family that will echo deeper than any teacher in the classroom provides. I am not preaching, I am sharing. Four years ago I bottomed out like sumo wrestler in a bikini. Struggled to be honest with myself, justified my needs to take another trip away, be on the phone, stay out…
I have personally:
- denied it (I am doing enough)
- fought it (how dare you single me out)
- justified it (at least I am better than him)
- got plain angry about it (silly, fat hobbit, I am better than that)
It may be a downer to think we, as dads, are not taking enough responsibility in our roles as fathers.
I was lucky. After some consistent hard work, surrounding myself with successful fathers and good families, things turned around. Now my marriage and my focus is where it should be again, @ Home. I was not born with a manual and am still questioning my confidence in my competence for marriage, parenting or leading this family. Although I question if I am making the right choices in my life, my family still smiles because my focus is on the readjusted flight plan.
Also, FYI, your children are my daughters peers so it becomes personal enough that I refuse to let my experience be just a gain for me. I love them enough for the both of us.
I choose to make family my business.
Let’s take off, please make a choice to drop the L (Leader) in your attitude (aLtitude™). It is not just a choice but our calling as men to step into the role of leader of the family. I invite you to continue on this flight path with me and find your solutions to leading your family from the road. Contact FFF today about Leadership programs and opportunities.
